Trigger Point Therapy
Trigger points are tight, tender knots in a muscle that can send pain to other parts of the body. We find them during your exam and apply sustained pressure to release them. It is a deep-tissue approach, so expect firm pressure. People who sit at a desk all day, or who are recovering from a minor car accident, often carry these knots in the neck, shoulders, and low back.

Fascial Release Technique
Fascia is the connective tissue that wraps your muscles. When it tightens, movement can feel stiff and restricted. For fascial release, we apply steady, hands-on pressure to the tight areas until the tissue begins to loosen. You can stay fully clothed, since the work can be done over your clothes.

Diversified Adjustment Technique
This is the adjustment most people picture when they think of a chiropractor. Dr. Brenner uses a quick, controlled thrust to move a stiff joint through its range, and you may hear a popping sound, which is common. It is used most often on the spine but can be applied to other joints. Many people notice easier movement and less stiffness afterward.

Instrument-Assisted Adjustment
Some people prefer a lighter touch. The Activator Method uses a small spring-loaded instrument that delivers a quick, low-force impulse to a specific spot on the neck or back. Because the force is so small and so brief, the surrounding muscles are less likely to tense up. We often use it for people with chronic neck or back pain.

Flexion Distraction
For this method you lie face down on a table with moving sections. Dr. Brenner guides the table to gently stretch and flex your spine in a slow, rhythmic motion, then applies light pressure to specific areas. It is a low-force option often chosen for disc-related back pain and spinal stiffness, and it is rarely painful.

Car Accident Treatment
Pain after a crash does not always show up right away. Neck and back symptoms can appear hours, days, or even weeks later. Dr. Brenner can evaluate you, explain what he finds, and recommend care when it fits. We accept auto accident (no-fault) insurance. If you were seriously hurt, get emergency medical care first.

More Ways We Can Help
Not sure which method fits? You do not need to decide ahead of time. Dr. Brenner will recommend a plan after your evaluation.
Cushioned wedges go under each side of your pelvis while you rest face down or on your back. Gravity does the work, with no twisting or thrusting. It is often used for sacroiliac (SI) joint and low back discomfort.
Smooth stainless steel or ceramic tools glide over the skin to find tight or restricted tissue in muscles and tendons. Expect firm pressure. Mild soreness or redness can follow and usually fades quickly.
Dr. Brenner holds a handheld low-level laser over the sore area for a short time, usually without any sensation beyond mild warmth. It is used as one part of a care plan, and it is not right for everyone, so we review that at your exam.
Ice packs or ice massage on a painful or swollen area to calm inflammation and dull pain, with a barrier to protect your skin.
A posture analysis during your exam, followed by adjustments and practical advice on ergonomics and daily habits.
Conditions We Treat
People come to us for everything from a stiff neck after a long week to an injury that has lingered for months. These are the problems we see most often, and each one links to a page that explains how we approach it. Chiropractic care is not the right answer for every problem. If yours calls for a different kind of care, Dr. Brenner will tell you.
Neck, head, and shoulders
Arms, hands, hips, legs, and feet
Injuries and long-term conditions
Some symptoms need a medical evaluation before anything else. Get care right away if you have sudden weakness or numbness, a new loss of bladder or bowel control, chest pain, severe pain after a fall or crash, or a sudden, severe headache unlike any you have had before.
A Drug-Free Approach to Healing
Chiropractic care is hands-on, drug-free, and does not involve surgery. For many people with back, neck, and joint problems, that makes it a reasonable thing to try first, or to use alongside the rest of their medical care.
Your first visit begins with a one-on-one consultation with Dr. Brenner. He goes over your health history, asks what you are feeling and when it started, and examines the area. Then he explains what he found and builds a treatment plan around you, so two patients with the same complaint may not get the same care.
The treatments we use include trigger point therapy, fascial release, and several kinds of adjustments. Each one targets muscles, joints, or connective tissue that may be holding tension. If your symptoms point to something outside what we do, we will tell you.

Meet Dr. Brenner
Dr. Russell Brenner grew up around chiropractic care. As a child he often went along to his father’s appointments, and as a teenager he was injured and received care himself. It left an impression. He earned a Bachelor of Science in biology from Marist College, then graduated with honors from New York Chiropractic College.
After working as an associate in a large practice, he opened Brenner Chiropractic in 2013. He wanted a practice where patients wait less and still get a thorough, personal evaluation. Today he treats back and neck problems, sciatica, herniated discs, and long-standing musculoskeletal pain, among other conditions, and he explains what he finds in plain language.
Our Mission
We want people to move more comfortably and get back to what they do every day. Some patients arrive after a recent injury. Others have lived with pain for years. Either way, the goal is the same: work out what is going on, treat it with conservative, hands-on care, and teach you what to do between visits to help keep it from coming back.
Chiropractic care focuses on the spine and the muscles, joints, and nerves around it. Pain can come from injury, overuse, poor posture, or wear on a joint, and Dr. Brenner’s first job is to figure out which of those applies to you.
